‘Gigantes’ in flower.

The plants grow fast and tall and need your most sturdy supports. They are likely to produce three or four vines from one root becoming very bushy. The plants don’t produce a large number of pods, given how vigorous they are, but I imagine all their effort must be diverted to growing large beans rather than quantity of pods. Believe me, you will have enough beans, even if the setting pods look a little sparse. I give them a dose of high potash feed (comfrey is great) when they are flowering and starting to form pods in order to encourage a bigger crop. If the autumn starts to close in, as with all climbing beans, it can be worth picking off some of the leaves and ‘cleaning’ up the plants a bit in order to ensure air circulates and the beans don’t get mildew.
